General

12-month contracts are required only for:
  • Dedicated International Bandwidth
  • Business Broadband
Different service packages have different minimum subscription periods, usually low price service items accept Monthly payment and higher priced items need longer pre-payment,hence longer subscrption period.
Service subscription will be automatically renewed unless 7 days after each service / billing expiry date without payment.

To teriminate service, you would have to send your termination request by email to your account manager or login to http://support.hkti.net and submit your request. Only authorized one (which is usually the email that was used during your business account setup) is accepted to make terminations, unless otherwise specified. Any subscription expired for 7 days will be deemed as auto-terminated and all data will be removed 14-days after expiry, no data will be recoverable after that.
Yes, we do provide control panel for users to control their orders, make bill payments etc. However, as a measurement of security enhancement, we don't provide the login information to any new user immediately after subscription, you have to write email to us to get the login information.

We build our order and customise for 90% of our corporate clients, so that the lead time varies, following figures are for your reference when you place orders:
  • Server (Low End): 1-2 working days
  • Server (High End): 5-10 working days
  • Bandwidth/Broadband: 3-5 working days
  • IP: 1-3 working days
  • Cloud Server / Virtual Server: 0-1 working day

Please note that the lead time ticks only upon successful confirmation of payment. If the payment is confirmed after HKT 13:00, the next working day will be the first day of work flow.

Troubleshooting & Security Issues

There are several connection problem types:

  1. Local Network Related
  2. Server Network Related
  3. Power Related
  4. Hardware Related

Local Network Related

You are suggested to check if you could visit other websites, such as www.google.com or www.baidu.com to see if you are facing a general network problem occured to your computer, if you can visit the website, you are online, but you still cannot connect to the server, then you are facing a server connection problem. You could use KVM to check if your password or firewall settings to be correct. If you connect to the network, please resolve it before contacting us.

Powered Related

For some/most of our clients, we provide remote control panel for their servers (KVM or iDRAC), before you contacting us, you are suggested to login to your KVM/iDRAC to check if the server power is ON.

Hardware Related

If you find that your server is ON, but still cannot be connected, then you might face hardware problem, such as PDU or harddisk problem.
In some circumstances, you might not be able to connect to your server, please run the following command and print the result to us, by email or via support platform, or by chatting with your account manager:

  • Windows: ping -t 123.123.123.123
  • Windows: tracert 123.123.123.123
  • Linux: ping 123.123.123.123
  • Linux: traceroute 123.123.123.123

Change the above IP address to your server IP, get the result, caputre the screen, and send to us (e.g. cs@hkti.net).
Most people or companies face serious threats from attacks from almost everywhere, howerver, knowing the following and do related enhancements, you got much more secure server enviroments:

  • Do not use common or default login names
  • Stronger passwords, combining Alphabetics, numbers and special characters
  • Better user management
  • Server Firewall
  • Frequeny Server Update & Patching
  • Do frequent backups
